Interior Designs

Dis ones da Ejector Button, dis er's da tellyporta and da other uns for da rockits

This was my first time doing the interior of a vehicle and while it was quite fun to build I did not however enjoy painting such cramped area. As a result the dashboard doesn't look as good as I imagined. Thinking about how I built it however I am not sure its something I could have painted seperate anyway. This gives me something to think about for next time at least.

Other than the dashboard I am happy with how the rest of it turned especially the test for the orks skin as this was all done with washes and is how I am thinking about doing my mob of boyz.
I will try another variation first and see how that goes before I approach the mob however.

Next up is to build the rest of the Shokk Attack Dragsta around him. I think I have all the parts I am going to need so its just time to get to work.

  1. I think you did good, the swirling red shokk attack buttons are great. Once the 'roof' is on, you won't get to see much of the interiors anyway. I used to paint the interiors of Land Raiders and Rhinos - now I just glue the doors shut as I never look inside.

    1. Thanks Siph. I did put the 'roof' on several times when building it to see what can be seen and most of the interior is visible when looked at from the right angles and there isn't going to be any closing the windows so the driver at least will always be seen. Just have to pray that when I prime the rest of it that nothing gets past the masking tape I plan on putting over the windows.

  2. One of them has to be a 'Don't touch dat!' button! I love it but think you need to ditch buggies and build 27 of those Traktor kannon things.

    1. All the buttons are big and red and shouldn't be touched which is why all of them will be. And as soon as I find some suitable bases I will start on another. Now that the crew are irrelevant I would like to put them on the base and actually have them look like they are crewing it or at least interacting with it.

  3. Also, I agree that painting it all glued would have been maddening. Even just doing to Ork boy separate would have been much easier. Assuming you could fit him back in the vehicle! I've bolloxed it up a few times when sub assemblies didn't fit. You have to think about it when you are doing the conversion sometimes.

    1. Sub assemblies are for the weak, but honestly doing the driver separate would have given me so much more room to paint but he was actually the first thing I glued in there and it was all built around him...
